P.R.A.Y.

It’s the beginning of the year and it is such an important time to align yourself with the voice of God. God wants to hear from you and He wants to talk to you.

Right now we are hearing a lot about walls in the United States. In this instance, there is a thought that walls bring security. Walls definitely bring protection and walls can represent bondage. They can make us feel stuck and blocked out of our destiny.

There is a sound that will bring down the inhibiting walls in your life. Prayer is one of those sounds. This will happen because God will show you what to say and what to do to expand and enlarge your territory. God has more for you that will only come through spending time talking to Him in prayer.

What does prayer do? The Lord gave me an acronym that I want to share with you. When you P.R.A.Y. you, Position to, Receive, Answers, Yourself

Prayer will put you in the right position. When you pray, you tell the Lord that you need Him. You put yourself in humility to let the Lord know you realize His power. You take yourself off of the throne of the decision and you invite the Lord in to be the ruler of your life. It is only when we position ourselves correctly that we can receive from God. If we think that we can do it all by ourselves, we put a wall around God and do not allow Him to come in. When you position yourself to receive from God, He will put walls of safety around you.

God wants to answer your questions about you and your life. He has given you direct and personal access to Him so you can do just that. We are called to pray for others, for our nation and our spiritual leaders. There is no void in things to pray about in this day and time we live in. God is looking for intercessors who will stand on the wall in prayer, as watchmen. But it is important to remember that intercession starts with an “I”. Use that I to remember this, “Have I talked to God about me?” Go to God about you first so He can show you how to pray for others and what He wants you to pray for as well.

Jesus went to God in prayer about finishing his course on the cross. He was struggling about what was to come and He specifically sought the Lord about His will in regards to Him. Jesus fell down before the Lord and laid down before Him. We can position our body in a prostrate position before the Lord which is a powerful place to be. But it is critical that our heart is bowed before Him regardless of our physical positioning.

Jesus was struggling with His assignment but He was more concerned about the will of the Father being completed through Him then He was about the pain it would cause Him to die on the cross.

Position yourself to receive the will of the Lord for your life! Even with the pain, Jesus came out victorious and we did too because He accepted the will of the Father in prayer. Someone is depending on you to pray about you because the fulfillment of your destiny affects others!

It is great to have others pray for you. It is just as important to remember that there are some personal and private things that God wants to share with you. Get in position!

Joshua 6 1-27

Matthew 26:39  And He went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou [wilt].
