Identity in the Balance

I must prophesy and proclaim what I hear in my spirit:

Recently, I began to think about people who are in a very dark place and do not see light coming into their situation from any direction. I know without a shadow of a doubt that there is greatness and purpose in these people yet they maybe questioning their identity because of the pain they are experiencing. Life may not be going as they planned; they may be beginning to doubt that they can ever become the person they want to be or come to peace with the process they are going through in the moment.

We must remember that moments come to pass. The hand of time will continue to move and one day the present will become the past. If we stay in faith, we must believe that we will look back over time and give God glory and praise for bringing us through!

If the enemy can disconnect us from hope and get us to partner with doubt he can cut off our trust in God. Once we stop trusting God we have to lean-to our understanding. Our own understanding of the current situation is inept in comparison to the mind and plans of God. He sees beyond where we are and He knows that He is fighting on our behalf to turn every perceived defeat into a powerful victory.

I then began to meditate on Jesus. I thought about how he must have felt while He hung on the cross at Calvary for our salvation. He was going through this pain for us, which led to His death. Jesus came to free us from our sins yet He had to go through being chastised. He had to face a brutal barrage of questions and doubts about who He was.  His identity was in the balance. However, His lowest place birthed forth His greatest victory. Even though He thought that His Father had forsaken Him at one moment, that moment passed and everyone saw that He was the Son of God. He was who God said He was. He was given a name that was above every name.

When I was going through a very difficult situation with my son, it took me a while to realize I was going through this situation for someone else. I was going through this to one day pray someone else through a dark time. I was learning how to believe God for complete physical healing for other people I would meet along my path.

Jesus’ identity was secured when God sent a dove to descend upon Him. God declared that Jesus was His son and He was well pleased. Everyone there saw that Jesus was who He said He was. He is also who He says He is in your life. No matter how the difficult the situation is that you are going through, He will be who He says He is. He will be a healer in sickness, a deliverer in bondage, a provision in poverty, a help in times of trouble.

You will come out of the situation identified as His child.  He is a God who takes care of His children. So when you come out, remember that it was your Father who was with you and never left you. He said He will never leave you nor forsake you. Everyone will know that you are precious and valuable to the Lord. When you come out, you will come out as pure gold. When we go through the fire, we are refined. We are purified. Doubt is diluted and loses its hold on us when we fill ourselves with the Word of God.

No matter what it looks like, you are who God says you are in Him. You are more than a conqueror! Your identity is sure. When it feels like your identity is hanging in the balance and things aren’t going as you planned, don’t hold onto who you are, instead hold on to who He is! In Him you live, move and have your being. Being in Him will confirm your identity! Hold onto to the truth of His Word. He has plans to prosper you and to give you a hope and a future. The light is within you and as you connect to the light of His presence, Christ the hope of glory will arise in you! Hold on, the best is yet to come!

Matthew 3:17 Then a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”

Philippians 2:9-11 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

2 Corinthians 4:6 For God, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shown in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

1 Peter 2:9 But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God’s OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light
